Why is goal setting important?

“The FUTURE depends on what we do in the PRESENT”

Mahatma Gandhi

Goal setting, how many times do you hear how important goal setting is to your success in business, life, spiritual and anything you can think of. Well, you know what, it is true!

Why do so many people preach about the importance of goal setting, promise making, intensions or whatever you want to call it? Easy answer, because many of us still today don’t do it, or we do a poor job or we put in half the effort and wonder why we are still stuck in our non-satisfying jobs, with business partners we don’t like, with clients that frustrate us, with employees that just don’t care or anything else that you can think of why we are stuck.

Goal setting is just the start of launching YOU as a person to the next level in your business, your life maybe your church, your hockey team, your peer group and the list continues forever.

When you master the art of goal setting, you will then be primed to master goal achievement (coming soon).

The importance of goal-setting is secondary only to the importance of goal achievement. Stuart’s book and coaching has helped me to understand the importance of using care and precision in goal-setting, to make sure I’m focusing on the most important activities.

Don't procrastinate any longer, get the tools you need today to take your business to the next level. Procrastination and the lack of taking immediate action cripples IT consultants across the world, don't become another statistic.

If there were one area I could help each person become disciplined with in order to take their life and business to the next level, it would be the area of setting goals. Far too many of us wake up each day and let the day happen to us rather than be in control of how we use our time and energy to accomplish what matters. The daily practice of having a plan with specific goals through which we can filter every opportunity and request that wants a piece of our time is critical for fulfillment and success. It has been the single most important habit that has contributed to my success. It isn't easy to hit your target if you aren’t sure what you are shooting at. Don’t let life happen to you. Learn to make intentional choices about things that make a difference based on your purpose in life. As the old saying goes, failing to plan is planning to fail. If you don’t take control of this area, you will miss the mark.
